Hate List by Jennifer Brown

Teen Book of the Week

Valerie and Nick were outsiders, tormented by the popular crowd. Both were unhappy at home. Both found someone to count on in the other.

It was Val that started the Hate List - a list of things and people that hurt her. When she shared it with Nick, it was one more thing they had in common. A way to vent the anger.

But Nick's anger was too strong, and Val missed the warning signs. She didn't notice when the 'jokes' turned serious. And she was as surprised as the rest of the school when Nick opened fire in the Commons.

Everyone is trying to decide whether Val is to blame. The police. The school. The other students. Her parents. And Val herself.

Reserve the book.
