Interlibrary Loans
Request items from other Canadian libraries. Click here to fill out the ILLO FORM.
Our staff will try to borrow items not available in our library for you from another Canadian library via our Interlibrary Loans service.
Cost
- the service is usually free of charge
-
occasionally, the external library imposes a charge
- if this happens, we pass the charge along to you
- we confirm the amount with you before going ahead with the order
- at that time, you are free to cancel your order with no obligation
- lost/damaged items: replacement costs are determined by the lending library
How it works
- you may have 3 requests in process at any given time
- you may borrow books, articles or microfilm
- videos, DVDs, cassettes or CDs are not available through interlibrary loan
-
to place your request
- visit any of our 16 branches [branch hours/locations], or
- phone your local branch, or
- phone the Central Library at (613) 549-8888, or
- contact us online through our Ask a Librarian service
- you can arrange to pick up the item at any branch
How long
- the item usually arrives within 4 to 6 weeks
- we'll call or e-mail you when it is ready to be picked up
- the loan period is usually about 3 weeks. It is set by the library that lends us the item.
