Lights, Cameras, Strollers!

Every Tuesday afternoon this summer at the Calvin Park Branch, we will be hosting a special movie series! Parents and caregivers accompanied by babies and infants are invited to attend screenings of recently released movies based on popular novels. Please note that these screenings are intended for adults who have infants with them. Look forward to a stroller-friendly zone where you can meet other caregivers and let your infants interact while you watch a movie. Please note that space is limited and that you must have a ticket to attend. Free tickets will be released one hour before each screening. Each screening starts at 2 p.m. Click here for more information.

Kingston Reads

Kingston Reads is a campaign to promote reading Canadian books. Following in the footsteps of the CBC’s very successful Canada Reads campaign, we approached 10 local luminaries to champion the books nominated by the Ontario Library Association for the Evergreen Award. Each champion will submit a pitch for his or her book, and we will post it on the library’s website. Check back soon for details about the 2010 finalists.

KFPL will submit your votes at the end of Ontario Library Week, and the winner will be announced at the Ontario Library Association's annual conference next February.
