Review by ANN E ROFF
An excellent movie! In a snapshot of one woman's story, we are shown how much the Suffragettes went through - the personal sacrifices, the physical violence, the paternalistic attitudes and the anger they had to endure in their efforts to gain the right to vote. I shed a few tears at the end of the movie, thinking of how different my life would have been, had it not been for the bravery and determination of the Suffragettes. And women in different parts of the world are still living as chattels without rights or respect, so the story of the Suffragettes is as current now as it was in the early 1900s.
