Less of a near-death experience, more of a near-religious/spiritual experience. What we need as individuals and as a species is some way of reviving our conscience - artificially inducing death, i.e. flat lining, and subsequence medical resuscitation being a metaphor for the mending of our moral compass? Sometimes filmmakers are smarter than they intended. Case in point.
