Review by LINDA DIANE *MACDONALD
Although I initially suffered because of lack of access to a Large Print edition of this fabulous rendering of the fascinatingly difficult life and brutal death of Sir Harry Oakes, my pain dissipated as an incredible number of intriguing miscreants crept on to its pages. Charlotte Gray, once again, has ferreted through historical records to recount the personal and business acquaintances who each, in turn, seem to be as guilty as sin. Add to this line-up our ex-King and his strong-willed wife and you have a true Whodunnit. With vivid and beautifully crafted descriptions of the various locales, referenced political and business personages, and opinions of the opinionated, this book keeps its reader enthralled with ease. And so I ask: Who do you think dun it?
