Review by Poppy Mae Bee
A year in the life of a very recent widow and her family encapsulized in six 22 minute episodes. Lesley Manville who plays the Mum is brilliant and gives a quiet, powerful, understated performance. The rest of the cast is very good as well.
Watched it as a binge - well it took over two hours and a bit which is not really too long a binge (as opposed to an entire weekend). Witty, bittersweet and poignant.
If you like character driven dramedies and British high quality writing, this may be for you.
