Black History Month Through Poetry and Prose

Black History Month Through Poetry and Prose

Are you a poet and want to show it? Do you have a story waiting for a place to write itself? Send us a work of poetry or flash fiction to have it posted on the KFPL website, and take the opportunity to read your work to fellow authors live online on Feb. 28.

What is flash fiction (aka micro fiction or postcard fiction)? Flash fiction is defined as a story under 1500 words. These small creations provide the writer an opportunity to write compact, sharply articulated works that are easily consumed by the reader.

Rules for Entry

  • Submissions are open from Feb. 1 to Feb. 27
  • Limit of one piece per writer
  • Submissions must not exceed 1500 words.
  • Entries are limited to ages 13+.

Live Show
