Kanopy

Kanopy is a streaming video service you can access at home free with your library card.  Its focus is critically-acclaimed movies, documentaries, independent films, classic cinema, foreign films, and more.

Get started

Use the Kanopy website or app to create an account with your email address, a password, your library card number, and your PIN.

1. Go to Kanopy and click Add a Library Card.
   
2. Enter your 14-digit library card number and your PIN. Click Continue.
3. Complete the signup process by creating your Kanopy account. You can create your account using your Google or Apple or directly on Kanopy using your email address and password. Your password must be at least six characters long.
4. After creating your account, you'll receive a verification email in your inbox. Click on the link in this email to verify your email address.
5. Start watching! Click on Watch Now on the welcome screen to start browsing.

Kanopy tickets

At the beginning of each month, Kanopy accounts receive a set number of tickets. Tickets are used to play videos on Kanopy. 

KFPL borrowers receive 9 tickets per month. Tickets do not rollover at the end of each month. Kanopy Kids videos do not use tickets.

Each video will show the number of tickets you need to watch the video and how long you have to watch it.

Availability

Kanopy is available through the browser, and the app can be downloaded on iOS and Android devices. Check Kanopy’s website for more information about supported devices.

Accessibility
