Telling Your Story: Seniors' Writing Workshop Series

Whether you are writing a family history or a personal memoir, this five-session series of weekly workshops by award-winning author Jean Rae Baxter will help you to create a narrative that people will want to read. You will learn how to organize your writing project and how to write about your life experiences, using the tools of fiction to make memorable a special person, place or time. But be warned! You will learn by writing, so expect two to three hours of homework each week. By the end of the fifth session you will have a story to keep, to share with family and friends, and to pass on to the next generation.

This free workshop series is open to all seniors but seating is limited. To avoid disappointment please register in advance. Registration opens at 9 AM on Saturday, December 30. Please ensure that you will be able to attend all five weekly sessions. You will be asked for your Kingston Frontenac Public Library card number when you register.

You may register for this program without a KFPL card provided you take out a membership BEFORE the first workshop session on January 9. To learn all about how to get a KFPL membership either visit www.kfpl.ca/getting-started/getting-a-library-card or phone any KFPL branch to speak with a staff member.
