In honour of Science Literacy Week 2018, KFPL presents a talk with Michael Cole. Queen's Conference on Ocean Sustainability brings together people who care about sustainable ocean practices. Plastics in our world's oceans have a large negative effect on the natural environment and the creatures which inhabit it. This program will explain why plastics can be found nearly everywhere and why they are so hard to dispose of safely. Come learn what you can do as a consumer to reduce your plastic waste and be inspired by other leaders doing their part to save the oceans.
This free talk is open to all adults and teens but seating is limited. To avoid disappointment please register in advance. Registration opens at 9 AM on Saturday, September 8.
You will be asked for your Kingston Frontenac Public Library card number when you register. Each participant must be registered separately. If attending with a friend please register yourself and then register your friend. Registration will close at noon on Thursday, September 20.
You may register for this program without a KFPL card provided you take out a membership before the talk begins. To learn how to get a KFPL membership either visit http://url.ie/1284s or phone any KFPL branch to speak with a staff member.
