Central Branch Grand Re-Opening

The Kingston Frontenac Public Library welcomes you to rediscover the Central Branch - our doors will open to the public at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 23.

Following the opening ceremonies, enjoy activities throughout the building until 2 p.m.

Guided tours will depart from Meeting Room #2 on the second floor at 11:30, 12:00 (accessible tour with sign language interpretation), 12:30, 1:00 and 1:30. Tours will be limited to 25 participants. Register on site.

Families will enjoy facepainting with Christine Harvey plus storytimes at 11:30, 12:30 and 1:30 (accessible program with sign language interpreter) in the children's area.

Enjoy refreshments provided by Crave and the LCVI Culinary Arts program, with the support of KFL&A Public Health.

Discover our new green screen and enjoy our photo booth and "Live My Library" photograph diorama in the Friends of the Library Gather & Create Space.

Discover resources to explore Kingston’s history and your own in our new local history reading room on the second floor, and connect with our friends from the Ontario Genealogical Society.

Get a commemorative library card and convert your old card into guitar picks to be donated to Joe's MILL, and connect with their staff to learn more about the musical instrument lending service.

A full event program will be available at the door. Following the celebrations, the library will remain open until 5 p.m. for regular library service.
