King Con is Kingston’s preeminent festival of comics, gaming, sci-fi, fantasy, and other exciting forms of fandoms. In 2020, King Con will return to KFPL’s Central branch for the weekend of April 3 to 5. Whether you geek out for cool demonstrations, tabletop gaming, interesting speakers, special children’s programming, or other fantastic activities, King Con will have something for you.

At this point, the 2020 King Con Organizing Committee invites applications from local and regional artists and artisans to participate in the King Con Vendors’ Fair on Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5 at KFPL’s Central branch, 130 Johnson Street. This is your opportunity to show off and sell your work, whether it engages with the pop culture or comics universe or not.

We also invite expressions of interest from those who feel they could offer or facilitate an event-appropriate talk, workshop, or demonstration during the 2020 festival. The King Con Organizing Committee is committed to equity and diversity and welcomes applications that foreground the perspectives of women, visible minorities, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and LGBTQ2+ persons.

It is free to participate in the King Con Vendors’ Fair or host a workshop, but there will be a limited amount of space. Spots will be filled according to the order in which applications are received and the suitability of the applicants. We would also appreciate it if each vendor could donate a small item (value $20 - $50) for us to use as a raffle prize. We use the raffle prize to incentivize attendees of this free event to submit evaluations that help with our funding.
