How do the Friends support the Kingston Frontenac Public Library?

The Friends of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library are a volunteer-led organization. They have charitable status and are dedicated to raising funds to support enhanced library services. Funds are also used to allow the library to purchase materials and equipment not provided by public funding.

What the Friends do and how you can help

The Friends raise funds in several ways, including through friendship donations, gift sales, and the daily book sale at the Central branch. Visit the Book Sale and Donations page to learn which materials are acceptable for donations.

The Friends donate annually in support of local libraries where it is most needed. The funds provide a wide variety of programming and outreach throughout our branches. Recent programmes have included “Make it Happen”, a series of crafting and experimentation with different materials for adults, and science and literacy programmes for children. The Friends also purchased a 3D printer, which has seen wide use across the different branches.

With your help, we hope to make a similar gift towards the renovation of the Isabel Turner Branch.
