The Library uses a fine-free model, which means you will not be charged late fines for overdue materials.
However, you will be billed or lost or damaged items.
If you owe $20 or more, your account will be blocked from borrowing until the fee is paid.
The Library does not accept donated books instead of payment for lost or damaged items.
Replacement costs
KFPL will charge the list price or the retail price on most lost items. If you pay for a lost item which is then found and returned to the Library within one year, the Library will refund your payment by cheque.
Items will be marked 'lost' on your account if they reach 30 days overdue, and replacement fees will be applied. You will not be able to borrow any materials or use online resources until the item is returned or the replacement fee is paid.
Prices for materials vary; the price will be displayed on the invoice you will receive by email or mail.
KFPL accepts online payments or in-person payments. All branches accept cash and cheque, and select branches accept debit.
