The City of Bones is a unique and interesting start to the Mortal instruments series. We start with Clary, a normal art student from New York. At least until she witnesses three strange teens covered in tattoos murder a man at a nightclub, but Clary can't report them to anyone, as she is the only one who could see the murder go down. As Clary starts to realize, her world is not as it seems. Cassandra Clare has created a beautiful, rich world with lovable characters and dreadful villains. The narrative style let's you know what Clary is thinking, and really adds depth to the story. Recommended to those looking for a series that will stay with you forever.
