Review by Lady Midnight
A delightfully engaging story, with the pristine cinematography that one comes to expect from Disney. Gorgeously filmed, this surprisingly affecting movie features the ever-excellent Tom Hanks playing Walt Disney and Emma Thompson as P.L. Travers, the author of the book Mary Poppins. Paul Giamatti is just wonderful in the role of chauffeur to Mrs. Travers. Colin Farrell turns in a fabulous performance as her father, a beautiful, charming, but troubled man thoroughly loved by his sweet daughter. Their early life is gradually and sensitively revealed as the story of Mary Poppins is painstakingly crafted into a film.
