Review by Poppy Mae Bee
Since I enjoy the fictional character of Agatha Raisin - a smart but neurotic mess who is still stuck despite her age (54 ish), I could not imagine finding an actress who would not disappoint. Pleased to say that Ashley Jensen, whose small role in the film Lobster was haunting and searing, plays her with a light and ironic touch. Not quite who I imagined when I began the pilot - I became hooked and convinced soon into the series. Like Robert Carlyle in the Hamish Macbeth series by the same author - the tv adaption is charming and a pleasure in itself without taking away the joy of reading the original mysteries. yay
