What an incredibly powerful and riveting movie. Mel Gibson just outdid the gravitas of the Passion of the Christ with this inspiring and difficult movie. The film is extremely real and intense, as war is, especially Okinawa's battles.
What really got me were the final real first persons interviews that make the actions of the main character so incredibly heroic. Truly amazing and so inspiring.
