Film based on true facts about a couple on a sailboat that goes through a hurricane and the man gets thrown overboard. His girlfriend must survive a month adrift while taking care of him, but there is a twist to this bit.
The film is well constructed with scenes alternating between past and present to tell us the story. It moves very slowly and the love story is poignant, especially when the whole story has been told.
Library journal review!! Really?? Did whoever wrote that even watch this movie? It's a movie based on factual accounts; it's not about him --- the male character --- it's about her. It's heart breaking and beautifully well done. If I had read that 'Library journal review' before picking up the movie I never would have watched it. It's not boring. But that review made it sound like it was. It's not a documentary!! and none of that stuff the reveiw claims to be in the movie is in the movie at all. Watch the movie until the end. It's about the girl, the lone survivor, not him. It'll break your heart. .
