Summary | Kabelo Mosala has always been the perfect child to his doting but emotionally absent parents, who look forward to him coming back after medical school to practice with his father, and give him the perfect township wedding. A few weeks before he leaves for university he forms a close bond with Sediba, a childhood friend. At the University of Cape Town, Kabelo meets Rodney, a white student who is also gay, and Kabelo becomes more comfortable with his sexuality. A surprise encounter with Sediba in Durban sparks a love affair, but their relationship is thrown into turmoil by social pressure and differing desires. When it's time for Kabelo to go back home, Sediba announces that he is thinking of marrying a woman, but against the odds the two young men come back to each other, risking scorn from their community. |
