Tell us what you thought about Crazy rich Asians
A good night at the movies with great shots of Singapore's skyline!
Really cool romantic comedy film with interesting and colorful characters, richly filmed and reasonably well acted. It follows the traditional line of boy finds girl, event happens and boy nearly loses girl only to get back together at the end, but with a very different Asian background. Very entertaining.
This movie is incredibly humorous, poignant and makes you question the relationships that exist around you, but you won't notice until the last line. Rachel Chu is just am ordinary girl from New York who is off to Singapore to meet her boyfriend's rich parents. She knew they were affluent, but she hadn't realized exactly how much so, she and the watcher are then taken through the lives of several different "crazy rich Asians." The film was cleverly shot, with bright filters and camera angles to make the characters more personable or less. John M. Chu, the director, changes techniques as he develops each character and their stories are explored. Another of the most important and likable characters in the movie is Nick's favourite family member, Astrid Young-Teo. A story-line that I, and many other watchers, eagerly anticipate in the sequel is that of Astrid and her husband, in Astrid's final scene of the movie, we're left gaping at the screen. The ending will not leave you remiss, however, as Rachel's story comes to (mostly) a close, with a happy ending.
