An excellent book that gives a good look at lives of Indian soldiers of British Indian army during WWI.
It is also worth reading another book published by late , Philip Mason OBE CIE (19 March 1906 – 25 January 1999) was an English civil servant and author. He is best known for his two-volume book on the British Raj, The Men Who Ruled India (written under the pseudonym 'Philip Woodruff', the latter being his mother's maiden name), and his study of the Indian Army, A Matter of Honour (1974).
A matter of Honour outlines the story of the Indian Army from year 1757 onwards.
