This film reveals Nicole Kidman in a totally different type of role than what we usually expect from her; she is a very somber police officer who is dealing with events that happened in her past that affected her life.

The film is at times hard to follow as it keeps going in time and back constantly, but the story peels off the layers of events to make us understand Kidman's character. She offers a very good performance, but that is not quite enough to bring the film into the category of great films.
