I liked this book because the premise is based on a BBC radio program that actually existed during WWII, and it contains original recipes from that period of food rationing.
Others have criticized the book due to the shallow characters, but if you do not have expectations of it being deep literature, it is a fast and amusing read.
For fans of the British ITV drama series The Homefront, which is based on Julie Summers book Jambusters, I think that you will particularily enjoy The Kitchen Front.
