Review by SHEILA MCCORMICK
The acting seemed decent and the filming captured the richness of the Irish countryside. The story twists and turns and is entertaining for the most part. But then you get to the end and the sub-plots are not resolved and you realise they are contrived, gratuitous filler. For example, the sub-plot with cousin Frank is farcical and its contribution to the main story is never explained. What could have been a realistic 3-hour story has been padded to fill 6 hours, a not uncommon ploy among the writers and producers of so much of today's serial dramas.
