Review by MELANIE DUGAN
A really fine movie. Riz Ahmed does a superlative job of portraying Ruben, a drummer in a noise-metal duo who loses his hearing suddenly and begins to learn how to be deaf. The film is compelling and beautiful, well-paced, intelligent. No pat or easy resolution here, but a wonderful exploration of endings, beginnings, change, and resilience. And also sound and the lack of it.
