Summary | Andrew Trent, a wealthy Scotsman known for insufferable practical jokes, summons relatives to his home under the pretext that he is about to die. When they arrive, Trent appears to be up to his old tricks. Soon, however, he is quite dead, and when Constable Hamish Macbeth is called in, the relatives become murder suspects. Hamish, too, has been the butt of Trent's jokes, but this case puts his reputation on the line. Some strong language. |
