Review by MELANIE DUGAN
This is a gentle, optimistic book that's lots of fun to read. It features Cecily - an academic involved in a gender-based harm investigation where she teaches — her impulsive, irresponsible mother, Dorothy, and Cecily's uncle, Dorothy's brother Tom, who has been the steadying hand for both women for decades. The book is warm-hearted and generous about people, their hopes, ambitions, and foibles. A nice book to spend time with.
