Let's Read Together!

Young readers in grades 1 to 3 are invited to join us for Reading Buddies—a fun, supportive program where teen volunteers and library staff provide one-on-one reading support and engaging literacy activities.

The Isabel Turner Branch will be temporarily closed starting Fall 2024 for renovations. During this time, we’ll be temporarily moving to the Cataraqui Centre.  Get updates here.

Loving Spoonful's newest Community Harvest Garden will soon be under construction at the Calvin Park Branch! Part of a bigger project to rejuvenate our courtyard and greenspace, the garden will provide free or low-cost food to community members, including through a Community Harvest Market at the branch on Thursdays from 3 to 5 p.m. starting June 30.

Check out the Community Harvest website, and follow them on Facebook for other ways to get or stay involved.

May We Suggest: Understanding why IDAHOTB matters

The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia is May 17, every year, in recognition of the World Health Organization declassifying homosexuality as a mental disorder on May 17, 1990. This year's theme is “Our Bodies, Our Lives, Our Rights”, highlighting the right to live one's sexuality, express gender(s) freely, and be free of violence and discrimination.
