Evening hours return May 2!

There's no need to rush in after work or wait for the weekend to get to the library! All of our City of Kingston branches will join our Isabel Turner Branch in offering evening hours in May, making it easier for you to visit.

Early morning hours are also returning to Central, Calvin Park and Isabel Turner, and our Rideau Heights Branch will once again be open all day on Saturdays.

Beginning May 2, our Calvin Park, Central and Isabel Turner Branches will be open 9 a.m. to. 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Rideau Heights will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, plus 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. And, beginning May 3, Pittsburgh will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Tuesday to Thursday, plus 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

Paying tribute to Kingston writer, poet, and singer-songwriter Steven Heighton

Steven Heighton, writer, poet, and singer-songwriter passed away at age 60 on April 19, 2022.  The celebrated Governor General's Award-winning author called Kingston his home.  His 19 books of fiction, poetry and essays have been translated into ten languages and have appeared in many publications and anthologies worldwide.  His deeply moving album, The Devil's Share, was recorded on Wolfe Island in 2021.
