KFPL Live: Jane Austen's Bad Boys

Jane Austen’s work is experiencing something of a resurgence during the pandemic, as romance must again deal with social distancing.  And just as in Regency England, it can be difficult to tell if a potential partner is a wise choice or a rogue.  Learn how Austen’s heroines select a suitor while fighting their own romantic urges in this online talk by Dr Erin Weinberg.  Saturday, January 30 at 2 p.m.  Register now to receive the Zoom link.

Now available to reserve!

Looking forward to getting out into nature once the stay-at-home order has passed? Ontario Parks now provides us with 48 annual passes that are available for loan year-round, and are valid at any park province-wide for day-use access.

Reserve either a customized backpack or a park permit on its own. Backpacks include the pass along with resource books to help you explore the plants, birds and animals you encounter on your adventures.

Now Available: STEM Discovery Kits

Robotics Discovery Kits and Circuitry Discovery Kits are now available for children ages 7 to 12.

Kits will be managed as a take-home program, with families registering to pick up their kit at the host branch. Over the next six months, watch for them to be available from our Calvin Park, Central, Cloyne, Isabel Turner, Pittsburgh, Rideau Heights, Sharbot Lake, Sydenham, and Wolfe Island branches.
