Join us for a live-streamed webinar from the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.

The webinar will reflect on the 10 years since the TRC’s 94 Calls to Action were released—what progress has been made, what remains and the challenges that persist. A facilitated group discussion will follow the screening.

Light snacks, tea and coffee will be provided. Feel free to bring your own lunch.

Online Children's Programs

Hop on board the Storytime Express

KFPL staff are launching three new online programming series for children and families.

Baby & Me will feature individual rhymes, songs, bounces and games that parents can play with their baby or toddler. Inspired by our regular programming for infants, these videos will help parents build early literacy skills at home. Meanwhile, in Meredith's Maker Lab children will engage in a variety of arts and crafts projects using easy-to-find materials you'll likely have around the house. For both of these programs, subscribe to our Youtube channel to see new content as it is uploaded, or follow us on Twitter or Facebook for new releases every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Storytime Express will offer families a taste of our popular Family Storytime programs at home. This program will include read-alouds, songs, rhymes, STEM facts and more. Due to restrictions on recording performances, including reading books aloud, the programs are posted privately and a link will be emailed out to all registrants each week. You'll be able to watch it as often as you like!

Together Yet Separate Online Bookclub

Check out the Together Yet Separate Online Bookclub page! This group is open to anyone in Kingston-Frontenac who want to read alongside their community despite the challenges of isolation.

Starting Apr.17th, themes accompanied by booklists will be posted every second Friday at noon, with discussion questions posted throughout the two week period. Each title on the booklists will be available as an ebook and/or audiobook through KFPL’s cloudLibrary and Hoopla services. Participants are welcome to choose books not included on the lists.

Dive deeper into Ancestry

If you haven't played with Ancestry before (or even if you have!) you might like to start by fishing for ancestors. KFPL's Local History & Genealogy Librarian shows you how.
