Reflecting on the TRC’s Calls to Action: Ten Years Later – Live Webinar

Join us for a live-streamed webinar from the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.

The webinar will reflect on the 10 years since the TRC’s 94 Calls to Action were released—what progress has been made, what remains and the challenges that persist. A facilitated group discussion will follow the screening.

Light snacks, tea and coffee will be provided. Feel free to bring your own lunch.

Telling Your Story Showcase

Telling Your Story Showcase: Work from the Seniors' Writing Workshop

Award-winning author Jean Rae Baxter presents participants from the Sharbot Lake session of Telling Your Story: Seniors' Writing Workshop Series. Each will be reading excerpts from the memoirs and family histories they created during a five-week workshop series this October.  Tuesday, November 19, St. Andrew's Anglican Church Hall, 1028 Elizabeth Street in Sharbot Lake, 2 p.m.  Free admission; no registration required.

Journée pédagogique - 15 novembre

Cette journée pédagogique, rejoignez les marionnettistes de KFPL pour un atelier sur la création de spectacles de marionnettes! À travers plusieurs activités (jeux de théâtre, casting de marionnettes, répétitions, etc.) les enfants exploreront comment créer leur propre spectacle de A à Z. Pour les enfants de 8-12 ans.

Les parents/tuteurs d’enfants de  7 - 9 ans doivent rester dans la bibliothèque pendant la durée du programme. Ce programme sera livré en français. L’inscription est obligatoire.

Make a Will Month

KFPL Live: Make a Will Month

Learn why it's so important to have a will and Power of Attorney.  Local lawyers will go over the elements of a will, what happens when someone dies without one, what powers of attorney are, and what to consider in estate planning.  Questions will be welcome, but no legal advice will be provided. Free to adults, but seating is limited. To avoid disappointment, please register in advance online or by phone at 613-549-8888.  Monday, November 18, Isabel Turner, 7 p.m.  This talk will be repeated twice:  on Saturday, November 23, Sydenham, 2 p.m. and on Thursday, November 28, Calvin Park, 7 p.m.  All three presentations will be the same.
