Sept. 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a time to honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, Survivors, their families and their communities. It is also a day for reflection, learning and action. This booklist offers stories and resources that deepen our understanding of Canada’s colonial history, celebrate Indigenous voices and knowledge and encourage us all to engage with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.

Upcycling and sustainability books to help you waste less
Crafting and hobbies can become expensive, especially if you need to buy new supplies and equipment. By upcycling — taking something that would go to waste, like scrap fabric, and turning it into something valuable — you can save money, create something one of a kind and help the environment.
Our December 2022 Create newsletter focused on upcycling and sustainability. Here are a few of the titles we highlighted. You can sign up for a newsletter any time!
