Join the Fun with the TD Summer Reading Club!

Get ready for a summer full of stories, fun and prizes with the TD Summer Reading Club at KFPL!

Pre-readers (ages 0–5) and school-age kids (ages 6–12) can track their reading and complete fun activities on Beanstack to earn badges and enter monthly prize draws. The Grand Prize—a $100 Indigo gift card and a goody basket—will be awarded to one participant in each age group who completes the TD Summer Reading Club! Kids are encouraged to visit the library weekly to share their reading, collect a sticker and put their name up on the Wall of Achievement. Sign up now on Beanstack and start your summer reading adventure! Thank you to the Friends of the Library for supporting summer reading programs at KFPL. 

The challenge runs until Sunday, Aug. 24.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten (1BBK) is a free literacy program for newborns, babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. The goal? Read 1000 books with your little one before they start Kindergarten. Get started now!

Wisdom in the Wind

Ages 6 and up are invited to a nature-themed art workshop with local Indigenous artist Laura Moses. Children will enjoy a read-aloud and create their own dandelion painting and stick owl craft.

Brave & Bright: Creating My Resilient Self

Kids ages 9 and under are invited to join Registered Psychotherapist Bria Wannamaker for a creative exploration of resilience. Through art and self-expression, children will create self-portraits that reflect both joyful and challenging moments from the past school year.

P.A. Day Fun at KFPL

Registration is now open for exciting P.A. Day programs at the Library! Kids can get creative with colourful papier-mâché birds, participate in a garden-themed storytime and make their own “Plant Pal,” explore composting by meeting worms and building a mini worm bin and enjoy an interactive concert with the Kingston Symphony Association on The Science of Sound.
