Under the Dome by Stephen King

On a seemingly normal day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is suddenly sealed off under a huge glass dome, which causes many crashes and wreckage, and people getting seriously injured as the dome comes down on them. Everyone gets split away from their families and loved ones. The citizens will stoop at nothing to save themselves, even if it means killing someone.

This book is definitely one of Stephen King's best work, as there are lots of twists and genius work that will keep you interested. If you liked this book, you can check out the TV series based on the novel, created by Brian K. Vaughan and Stephen King himself.
