Saving Houdini by Michael Redhill

Dashiel Woolf is an 11 year old boy who enjoys anything to do with magic. But when he is chosen to be part of a famous performance, he thinks, “Not me,” because who knows what consequences it will bring him? The performance, entitled, “The Soap Bubble Vanish,” was only performed once before and now it is being performed on Dash. It turns out that Dash has vanished. He was sent back in time—85 years! He goes on a journey and makes a friend named Walter Gibson and tries to find out why he was the one chosen to be sent back in time.  He gets into a lot of trouble and gets to meet many interesting characters, such as the great Houdini and many more.

I really recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery and an adventure to accompany it.
