Average teenager Lauren Lee Smith has the perfect boyfriend, good friends, and decent grades. She has everything she wants, but she can’t help feeling there’s something missing. Tensions rise when childhood friend Evan Kirkland shows up in her life, and Lauren is torn between the boy everyone wants, and the boy she can’t stay away from. As she begins spending more time with Evan and her relationships spiral downhill, Lauren will be forced to make a choice — before someone makes it for her.
This book is a short read with too little detail and too much repetition, and I was disappointed with the simplistic ending of this novel. A poor knock-off of popular teen romance books, Bloom gives you low character development and a plot that’s been used one too many times. I wouldn’t recommend reading this book, but for those interested in respectable romance stories, I’d suggest taking a look at Life Without Friends by Ellen Emerson White or Girls in Love by Jacqueline Wilson.
