In the fourth book of the Discworld series, we meet a boy named Mort who is in need of work that no one will give him. Except for one creature, and that creature is Death himself, whom we have met in the adventures of Rincewind and Twoflower. As Death's accomplice, Mort must kill precisely on time or things will go wrong. However, as we all know, people make mistakes, and this job is unforgiving. Thus, the adventure to save Mort's crush begins in this exciting race against time and fate.
In this book, we see the dynamic character of Mort as he develops throughout the story. This book also shows the interesting, human side of the character of Death.
I enjoyed this book a lot, and it is my favourite Discworld novel so far. I would recommend it and the rest of the series to anyone looking for a memorable, unique fantasy or Sci-Fi series. If you like this book or this series, I would recommend the Keys to the Kingdoms series by Garth Nix, as it is also a unique series.
