This autobiography tells the captivating story of how Gordie Howe made his incredible journey to professional hockey. It describes the ups and downs of his career as well as his life when he did not have his skates laced up.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and could not put it down. The description is deep and colourful, whether Howe is in the dressing room or out on the ice. There is never a boring part in Gordie Howe’s autobiography Mr. Hockey.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes to read biographies, but mostly to those who love hockey. There is no coarse language or mature themes, other than the infrequent mention of sexual behaviour.
This book really reminds me of Chris Hadfield’s An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth, which tells the story of a Canadian ISS commander’s journey to space.
