The Selection is the competition of a lifetime, a random lottery to get the chance to win over Prince Maxon’s hand. In this thrilling tale, thirty-five girls are selected to visit the castle and compete, including America Singer. America was happy with her life before, a big family full of artists and a secret love, Aspen, whom she planned to marry. But when America is picked to enter the Selection, her life gets turned upside down. She’s thrown into a world she’s not used to, a world with ball gowns and tiaras. A world with Prince Maxon.
The Selection was one of my all-time favourite reads, it had a captivating tale set in a dystopian future. Refreshingly new, this New York Times Bestseller captures love, friendship, and family all rolled into one spectacular competition. The first in a trilogy of books, The Selection is an amazing book.
If you liked the competition, try something similar like Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. If you are looking for more by Kiera Cass, then I recommend you try The Siren.
