Rebel Glory is a captivating novel that tells the story of a 17-year-old hockey star playing for the Red Deer Rebels in the WHL. It uses colourful imagery and descriptive text to show the reader the significance of each and every detail. It will keep you entertained for many reads and will keep the reader coming back for more and seeking more books about hockey and mysteries. This book will change the way that any reader thinks about hockey and sports mysteries.
The book starts off as a seemingly innocent story of a 17-year-old hockey star by the name of Brian. He plays defense in the WHL and his team is on the verge of missing the playoffs. This seems like the wrong time for “accidents” to start happening in and around the locker room. With the help of his friend, Brian must solve the case and return justice to his team in a final push for the playoffs. Under the spotlight, Brian must find balance between hockey and personal relationships and find out that hockey may not be everything.
I would recommend this book to any age, as it does not contain any mature themes that would not be suitable for young ages. I think that this book would appeal to readers from the ages of 9 to15 and definitely to those who love sports and mysteries.
This book is just one in a very long series of novels written by Sigmund Brouwer. They include: All-Star Pride, Thunderbird Spirit, Winter Hawk Star, Blazer Drive, and Chief Honor. They each highlight the career of a different player from around the world. From national-tier players to the little leagues, these each tell a story from a different perspective of the ice.
