Kahlen is a girl turned Siren. Under the Ocean’s command she lures humans to their deaths alongside her siren sisters. Damaged by these murderous acts, Kahlen’s sworn not to form any relationships, even while visiting the human world every day. But then she meets Akinli, a human boy who fits perfectly into her life, a human boy that she cannot speak to but loves all the same. Against the ocean’s command, Kahlen begins to fall in love with Akinli, and she’s determined never to lose him.
The Siren is a modern twist on the classic fairy tale of mermaids. It gives a fresh new perspective to mythology while maintaining a romantic, teen plotline. Kahlen, Akinli and even the Ocean are vibrant characters that you can’t help but sympathize with, and their whirling story will keep you hooked until the very last word. This is a book you’ll never want to put down!
