Fight Club is one of the most unique films I have ever seen. It based on the 1996 novel of the same name by Chuck Palahnuik. The movie criticizes 21st century’s capitalism and the community which they created. Fight Club is the one of the masterpiece of Mind-Bending movies. It is an action, thriller and drama type of movie. This movie is dark and disturbing, however, it is equally smart and stylistic. I found it hard to watch at points, but I couldn't turn my eyes away. Fight Club makes many bold statements against the modern consumer-driven society, and produces Norton's and Pitt's best performance. The main actor Edward Norton who played as the main character (the Narrator) was perfect at the movie. Before I start I already knew it was a mind-blending movie but if I did not know that, probably I couldn’t guess that’s coming. The script was tight, the theme fascinating, the acting incredible, the direction inspired, and the cinematography stunning.
My favorite character is probably Tyler who animated by Brad Pitt. He is a soap salesman hat the Narrator meets on one of his business trips and becomes best friend of the Narrator until they open an underground fight club which Tyler quickly turns into a social anarchistic revolutionary society known as Project Mayhem. He is the perfect example for capitalism.
Fight Club is about a man who needs to change his life. He meets a guy in the plane who called Tyler Durden. Tyler gives the narrator his phone number, and when the latter returns home, it is to discover that his condo has exploded. All of his material possessions are gone. In search of support, he calls Tyler, who meets him in the parking lot. They get into a fistfight, and the fight club is born. The narrator goes to live with Tyler, and over time, the fight club membership grows. The male population is eager to experience the feelings elicited by fight clubs, and they expand not only in participants. More and more, the narrator starts to see similarities between Tyler and himself. Both of them look battered due to fight club sessions. The narrator even starts to speak like Tyler. At this point, Tyler creates Project Mayhem, which is a group of committees that meet to complete assignments of civil disobedience assigned by Tyler each week. Tyler drags the narrator into the project.
But I found Helena Bonham Caries is a strange selection to take on the of Marla but her performance is very convincing and good. Brad Pitt and Edward Norton were the perfect choice to lead this movie.
Fight Club is a dangerously brilliant film that entertains as well as enlightens. Do yourself a favour, see this film, if that is not an option, at least read the book. If you are younger and feel unrest with society, this is the film.
