Andie Walker is the typical type A girl, organized, ambitious and extremely proud of her 4.0 GPA. Ready to start her summer at a prestigious pre-med program at Johns Hopkins, Andie is already beginning to imagine what her new life will be like, and how her future will roll out from there. Then, her summer plans come crashing down and she’s left facing reality: a summer full of her crazy friends, a strained relationship with her father, a very cute dog walker and a hopeless research for something to make her resume stand out.
How will Andi handle this twist of fate, and will she find out she was never meant to go at all? I guess you’ll have to keep reading to find out whether this will be the best or worst possible thing that could could’ve happened to her.
Anything written by Morgan Matson always has me feeling as if this could be a story about me and my friends during one, crazy summer. Matson manages to make everything she writes realistic, hilarious and bold, all the while making you feel as if you shouldn’t have a care in the world. I highly recommend The Unexpected Everything to anyone looking to escape into a funny, colourful world while laying next to the beach this summer.
Let’s just say, I truly hope I get to live out a summer like Andie’s, and I think after you read this book, you will too.
If The Unexpected Everything piques your interest, I would recommend looking into anything written by Morgan Matson, Sarah Dessen, Katie Finn or Jenna Han.
