Have you ever thought how extremely weird it would be to be in a "Groundhog Day" situation? Living the same day over and over again? How about living the same day over and over again but a killer coming after you? Happy Death Day is about a college student named Tree who is selfish, careless and only cares about getting boys and hanging out with her also selfish friends. She starts to get stalked by a psycho killer and gets killed on her birthday. She wakes up on what she thinks the next day thinking she just had a bad nightmare. She soon realizes she is living the same day over and over again. The only way she can stop it? She has to figure out who is trying to kill her. This movie is being called as Scream meets Groundhog Day, which I totally agree with. It has all the elements of Scream (nerdy kids, creepy killer with a knife) and Groundhog Day (living the same day over and over again). This movie is very comparable to these movies but also feels like an original movie at the same point. This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat. I would totally recommend this movie if you like Scream, Halloween or any other slasher movies. If you like this movie, you can watch the sequel "Happy Death Day 2U".
