*Truthfully it’s a 6/5 stars for me, I love everything about this book.
When her father receives unexpected, upsetting news, Taylor Edwards’ world is turned on its axis. Though she has a tendency to run away when things get tough, she knows that this is unfortunately not a situation she can leave behind.
Her father’s wish is that their family return to their summer lake house up in Lake Phoenix, nestled deep within the Poconos. For Taylor, returning means coming back to a place - and people - she ran away from five summers earlier, something she hoped she’d never have to do. In a summer full of hope, second chances and new beginnings, Taylor has to make the most of her days before time truly does run out.
If I’m being perfectly honest, this book made me bawl like a baby in the best way possible. Second Chance Summer is written in a way where you automatically become connected with the characters, but also begin making connections between Taylor’s story and your own. Personally, this book is one I will continue to read every summer, as it will always be one of my favourites.
I can not recommend this book enough. Seriously, go read it! Now!
