This is the third installment of Lemony Snicket’s Series of Unfortunate Events series. After escaping Count Olaf (an evil man who will do anything to get the Baudelaire children’s fortune), the orphans must live with their Aunt Josephine. Unfortunately, they are not given the safety and protection that they need.
If you have enjoyed any of Lemony Snicket's other books, then I know that you will enjoy this book like I did. The suspense will keep you intrigued throughout the entire book. This entry kept the pace of the Baudelaire children’s story and was quite an enjoyable read. Lemony’s writing style and clever hints in the text made the book even better, and provide a great reason to re-read each entry after the story has been told. I had trouble with putting the book down, and I rate it a 5/5.
Prior to this book you may wish to read The Bad Beginning and The Reptile Room, the two books that come before this one in the Series of Unfortunate Events series.
If you enjoyed this series, some of Lemony Snicket's other books include The Beatrice Letters and All The Wrong Questions.
