“If I cannot be better than them, I will become so much worse.” - Jude Duarte
Seventeen year old Jude Durate is a mortal girl living in the Faerie court. Taken from the mortal world at age seven along with her twin sister Taryn and half sister Vivi, she learns how to survive the hatred and twisted deceptions of the fae. To find her place in a court of dangerous faeries she discovers her own talents for deception and bloodshed. Jude learns how cruel the fae can be, especially the beautiful and terrible Prince Cardan, as she becomes tangled with the royals and the courts and tries to find her place among them.
Dark fantasy full of deception and lies, this fairytale is perfect for lovers of the fantasy genre. Jude is a strong and cunning character who will do anything to protect her family and the faerie court she loves and hates so much. The plot is slow at first and the book is more of an introduction to all the characters but by the end you’ll be desperate to read the next one in the series.
